Географический район страны и прилегающие к нему воды, в пределах которых таможенные органы уполномочены осуществлять контроль и облагать пошлинами поступающие туда из-за границы товары. Таможенная территория не всегда соответствует всей географической территории, над которой установлен суверенитет данного государства (см. customs frontier).
